One of the main benefits of the u3a is the opportunity to participate in our groups and clubs. We have a wide variety of interest/sports/activities groups running very successfully – use the list on this page to find out more about each one. Remember that you must be a u3a member in order to take part regularly in a group activity, although you are welcome to try a group at the group leaders discretion. Please contact the leader of the group you are interested in joining.
If you're not a member, then join now - it's only 10€ a year. If you have any questions, you will find contact details for the group leader on each group's page. And if you have any suggestions for new groups, or fancy being a group leader, please email the Group Co-ordinator.

Group news
Although we have many groups, there are always suggestions for more, or ones in the pipeline but not up and running yet.
Very often members express an interest for a group. However a group has to have a leader and /or someone with the skills to teach. The following list are potential groups but need some more input, or commitment to get them up and running.
Click the arrows to see more about each possible group
Cosy Spanish Lessons (small groups)
After listening to our members we realised a need for smaller groups, to run alongside our other Spanish groups
This could be especially useful for those with hearing or visual difficulties. With a group of 4, that's just 10€ per person.
Drawing
We had a lot of interest for a drawing group.
We now have a teacher who is happy to start a small group in January at a cost of 40€ an hour. So if 8 members register it will cost just 5€ each an hour: The classes will start in January.
Salsa / Bachata
After years of dancing drought, there now appears to be a possibility of securing a room and/or teacher, Anyone interested?
It would be early evening. We could maybe negotiate a decent rate if it is a good size group. Would require a Group leader.
Email if you are interested, and especially if you think you could be a group leader
Walking
We have our ambling group, but other walking opportunities are being requested.
If you could plan and lead a monthly u3a walk, please get in touch.
Backgammon, Scrabble or board games
We have some great cards & games groups, but a member has asked about different types of games - so we are just spreading the word.
Are you interested, or could you be a group leader? Drop me an email
Art
Art lessons always seem to be in demand, but it's finding a good space to teach with enough room for easels or desks. We may have a room in the new year (no promises yet though) are there any artists out there who are willing to teach 6 weeks in a particular medium; oil, water-colours, acrylic etc.? We could find an outside source but may cost up to 10€ per person an hour. Once we know demand we can seek the answer.
Alternative Lunch Club
The Thursday Lunch club group leader often has too many members asking to join in. He likes to limit lunches to 12 people. Would you like to start a Tuesday Lunch club or a Sunday Lunch club: whenever you like?
