Discounts – Buyer Beware

PLEASE NOTE that the offer of a discount is neither a promotion of an organisation nor a recommendation by the Committee and in all circumstances the phrase “Buyer Beware” should apply.To obtain your discount, members must produce their membership card at the beginning of any transaction. Discounts unless otherwise stated are for full price items excluding sale items, promotional items, special offers, items paid with vouchers or any other discounted items.

The Committee cannot accept any responsibility for any problems that may occur with the purchase of any product or service. In the event of a problem the buyer should contact the supplier direct in person and followed up in writing if necessary.

The U3A Oliva shall not be held liable for any product or service defect/default/failure or any other problem howsoever caused. The Committee will not enter into any dispute with any of the suppliers on behalf of a member.In the event of a problem not reaching an acceptable solution, the Committee invites the member to submit the details in writing to them for their records. In the event of a number of problems with a supplier the Committee may take the decision to delete that supplier from the discount list. Each case will be considered on an individual basis.

 

CHRISSIES LIVIN CARE

We offer the following discounts for members: 4% for live-in care. Live-in Care costs €680 per week with the discount it saves €27.20 per week making the total per week €652.80. For hourly care we can offer a 6% discount to members, it saves €0.90 per hour making the total per hour €14.10.

With hourly care we can do cleaning, cooking, shopping, ironing, washing, personnel care, medication management, translations to doctor/hospital appointments, day trips, respite so their partner can go out in Oliva, Gandia, Javea, Denia and surrounding areas.

With live-in care we have carers on a rotation system of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off for 24 hours a day care. This includes food preparation, cleaning, medication management, shopping, translations to doctor/hospital appointments, day trips again in Oliva, Gandia, Javea, Denis and surrounding areas.

All our staff have mandatory training and are police checked.

Holiday Rental

Ambulancias La Peña in Oliva is a new private ambulance service in Oliva. They plan to start early May 2020.

A private ambulance service gives the members peace of mind. If you have an emergency and need to get to the hospital their phone number is the only one you need. And, because you are one of their customers they will already know where you live, your medical history, any prescribed medication and will be ready to pass that information to the hospital during the journey. The hospital will be waiting for you and know all about you before you get there.

Now that is what I call peace of mind.

The price they charge per year for a household, yes a household, is 99euro.

For Oliva U3A members you will get a discount and only pay 94euros.

It doesn’t matter how many people there are in your house, you will all be covered. But even for one person, it will be comforting to know there is someone who can help you to get the help you need.

They have a website for the whole region but it is in Spanish, I have requested a translation app to help our members. But if you are interested in finding out more please remember to tell them you are from the Oliva U3A and either

The basic information I can give at the moment

  • You fill in your details and then they contact you to make an appointment to come to your house. This helps them to know where you live and on the visit they will ask about your medical history and prescriptions. You can show them your U3A membership card at this meeting.
  • You can sign up and pay (card payments taken) on this first visit.
  • Then they visit you on a regular basis to keep an eye on your health and to be aware if you have any extra medical issues. They said weekly, but this seems excessive yo me so maybe it can be adapted for each household.
  • The staff are fully trained and the ambulances are fully fitted out.
  • Their local office will be in the San Francesc area.
