The activity of the group is to further our understanding and appreciation of art through an illustrated talk from the leader and with contributions from the group. All are welcome; whether expert or not come and join in the conversation, find out more about the wonderful and surprising world of art.

The topic of the November meeting will be the Bauhaus –the school of architecture and design, founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius, which, although lasting only until 1933, when it was voluntarily closed under pressure from the Nazi regime, nevertheless had an enormous and lasting influence on architectural and product design.

The way the manmade world looks now, from its most stunning buildings to textile fabrics and the humble teacup is a result of the groundbreaking work of the Bauhaus teaching.

Why not come and join us, and learn more about this fascinating topic.
