Yes, it´s the Almond Blossom season. And yes, the blossoms are out in abundance, we´ve checked. This year´s amble has all the hallmarks of being better than the last few years.
Jalon Valley is a particularly attractive setting for an amble but timed with the awakening of spring and the blossoming of the Almond trees makes it a seasonal delight.
The route is a very easy route 100% tarred. The route is circular through the Almond groves and surrounded by spectacular scenery in and around Jalon village. There is only one slight incline after which the final part of the route takes us back down along the side of the Rio Gorgos. The walk is around 7-8 km long, and should take us about 2.5 hours.
Walking sticks are not necessary. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
We will be Al La Carte lunching at PEPE´s Restaurant on the CV720 - and you're welcome to join us. But please confirm by email so we can book a table.
Joining the amble
You'll need to let us know that you're planning to come along. Just send group leader Terry an email. And let him know if you plan to join the group for lunch,
If this is your first amble, you should also include your membership number. Your number was on the confirmation emails you received when you joined or renewed recently. If you've lost that email, send a message to members@u3aoliva.org for help.

Getting there
- From Oliva take the N332 south towards Alicante. Just after Ondara take the right turn that is sign posted CV724 to Pedreguer & Denia.
- Keep on the CV724 to Pedreguer. At Pedreguer take the CV720 to Parcent & Alcalali.
- As you approach Alcalali turn left on to the CV750 to Xalo/Jalon.
- Approaching Jalon you will cross over a bridge, the car park will be on your left. Park up & you will see the Café Ole on the right side of the road.
According to Google maps the distance from Oliva to Jalon is 36kms & time is approxmately 36 mins, but I would allow a little bit more for traffic etc.
