PLEASE MENTION THE GROUP!
It is your responsibility, as Walkers, to look at the walk characteristics and ensure that you are capable of doing the walk. Walkers participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own medical cover
Neither the walk leader NOR the U3A will be deemed responsible for incidents occuring during the walk; all members’ are deemed to understand this.
In the event of an emergency cancellation we will contact walkers by phone on the morning of the walk.
The Walking group meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from late September to Mid May.
Our walks are designed to be moderately easy, on hill/mountain paths, roads or tracks and should not be too difficult for the average walker.
The walks last between 2 and 3.5 hours with breaks for drinks of water and for taking pictures of the beautiful countryside. Group members undertake all walks at their own risk and should always carry their SIP or EHIC card.
On the day of the walk, we meet at a Cafe/Bar for a coffee before starting the walk. After the walk we may have lunch at a restaurant. If a suitable restaurant is not available we will have a picnic during the walk.
If a walk has to be cancelled or postponed, we will email group members by 6pm the day before the walk so please check your emails the night before the walk.In the event of an emergency cancellation we will contact walkers by phone on the morning of the walk.
Dogs are normally welcome but need to be kept under control at all times.
You would be very welcome to join our Group and should contact Barry Purvis at firstname.lastname@example.org
We are always looking for volunteers to lead a walk. Should you be interested in volunteering, please contact Barry.
