Hallo to all you budding bowlers out there who may have thought about joining a bowls group over the years but thought it’s too difficult or to much of a clicky group of people to join or as my wife said it’s an “old peoples game” (she now plays😂) Well it’s none of those things if you are female or male, younger or older, this group is for you; we are very friendly and laid back group who join together to enjoy an outdoor sport. We don’t get too hung up on rules beyond the few we must comply with. Most of our group had never played before and four years down the road all play a good standard of bowls and occasional play against the bowls club members and hold our own! We play at el Cid bowls club at Benidoleige which is about 20 minutes south of Oliva. We play every Monday at 1.30 pm the cost is 8 Euro per person per week (under review). In the heights of summer we play in the mornings when club fixtures allow. The green is a fabric one not grass. The club has a bar and restaurant and lovely pool so you can meet before or after for a drink and food when it’s available. Have a dip when it’s hot. Bowls are supplied if you have none, the rules re clothing is a white top should be worn and plain shorts or trousers (no Hawaii or beach shorts), smooth bottomed shoes must be worn so as not to damage the surface. Tuition will be given to all novice players for a few games and the first game has no cost to see if you like it, so come and try we are a very friendly group of men and women.
