11 days have passed since you received the newsletter and request for nominations for the 2023/24 committee and we've had no responses, none at all!
|
The U3A cannot operate without a committee. As an official association, the U3A can access venues operated by Oliva Ajuntament. Therefore, if any groups wish to continue outside of the U3A, they will need to source and pay for any room hire.
|
Oliva U3A currently has around 400 members but, for the last few years, we've struggled to manage with a very small committee. I'm sure that we have many members with the experience and skills that would really benefit U3A and enable the Association to continue for many more years to come.

Any member of the current committee, especially the President and Secretary, are willing to speak to anyone wanting to know more about the roles and responsibilities. Contact: secretary@u3aoliva.org for a copy of the role descriptions.

We realise that not everyone is experienced in accessing information online, so are attempting to make the nomination process as easy as possible. The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 21st April.

As per the Constitution, and after a maximum three years in-post, the President and Secretary will be standing down, but the Vice President and Treasurer are willing to stand for re-election. Other non-officer, but essential roles required are Membership Secretary and Group Co-ordinator whilst ordinary committee members would be very welcome.

Note that should we not receive nominations for the officer roles, then Oliva U3A cannot continue. Should this be the case, as per the Constitution, the AGM will instead be a meeting to formally dissolve the organisation.
